The Story.
SKIMDO exists because I discovered something I wasn’t supposed to.
Years of being told and shown that textured hair was unacceptable, left me feeling like I was born with a curse.
That is until I went to Brazil in my late teens and saw first hand that afro, curly, wavy, bushy, fluffy, thick and thin curls were unbelievably, jaw-droppingly, beautiful.
Upon returning home, I made it my mission to create a product that mimicked the powerful feeling of sovereignty I’d witnessed in Rio. Something to unfurl the tight ball I had wound myself and my hair into, and unbind me from the 4-6 products I used every morning just to leave the house.
That product turned out to be SKIMDO Original Cream.
It’s a unique concentrated, thick, luxurious gel-cream that is applied to style curls after the cleansing phase. I designed the formula to nourish, protect and flexibly hold the curls for up to a week, per application.
This is a world’s first and only.
Because I think we are all in agreement that there are so many things we’d rather be doing than our hair every day.
